Disappeating Messages

All of WhatsApp’s messages are end-to-end encrypted. While the technology behind the encryption is incredible, it’s quite difficult to explain easily. Like a real conversation, The future of communication will increasingly shift to private, encrypted services where people can be confident what they say to each other stays secure and their messages and content won't stick around forever. I led design flow for disappearing messages. 

QR Code 

QR code is making it easier than ever to add a new contact. Soon when user meet someone new, user will be able to scan their QR code to add them to contacts. No more tapping in their digits one at a time. It also appied to the Businesses. Scanning a QR code will open a chat with an optional pre-populated message created by the business to start the conversation. With the app’s messaging tools, businesses can quickly send back information such as their catalog to get the conversation going. I led all design flow from the scratches.

Sticker 

For the past couple years at WhatsApp, the idea of stickers was a bit taboo. WhatsApp has always focused itself as a core utility, forgoing features that could conceivably be seen as mere gimmicks. And for a long time, stickers were perhaps seen as such. But over time, people have evolved the way they communicate from simple text to richer mediums like photos, videos, voice messages, and video calls. Supporting new mediums for communicating, provided they added real utility for people, has always been part of the WhatsApp product strategy. From emoji and camera features to Status and animated GIFs, I was always looking to add new features that make communicating with friends and family on WhatsApp easy and fun. Read more design story in here

Live location

Live location allows you to share your location in real-time with family or friends. Whether you're meeting up with friends, letting loved ones know you're safe, or sharing your commute, Live Location is a simple and secure way to let people know where you are. This end-to-end encrypted feature lets you control who you share with and for how long. You can choose to stop sharing at any time or let the Live Location timer simply expire. I led the user experience design to create a simple, easy-to-use product that works everyone.
